First TCOOP Finishes With Prize Pool of Nearly $20 Million

Pokerstars Turbo Championship of Online Poker - LogoThe inaugural TCOOP (Turbo Championship of Online Poker) on Pokerstars came to a close yesterday, with big turnouts helping to propel the tournament prize pool to nearly double the $10 million guarantee.

In total, 50 events comprised this year's TCOOP. The series ended up with a total prize pool of $19,404,953.30, easily surpassing Pokerstars' $10 million guarantee.

The main event, which was won by "Betudontbet", ended up with a total prize pool of $2.4 million ($1.5 million guarantee). With American players no longer allowed on Pokerstars, the final table was truly an international affair, as players from nine different countries made up the final table.

-Most money won by country: Germany ($2,109,260.31)

-Most cashes by country: Russia (4,005)

-Most final table by country: United Kingdom (44)

-Most entrants by country: Russia (33,068)

-Most events won by country: Canada (8)

-Most cashes by a single player: "head27" (15)

Pokerstars' next major event, the 2012 SCOOP (Spring Championship of Online Poker), will likely get underway in early May.
