Main Event Final Table Bumped Up a Week Due to US Election

WSOP (World Series of Poker) 2012 ScheduleThe 2012 World Series of Poker schedule was released on Wednesday afternoon.

This year's event will get underway on Sunday, May 27th with the $500 Casino Employees No Limit Hold'em event. The first open event will be a $1,500 NLHE tournament that will begin on Monday, May 28th.

There will be a total of 61 bracelet events this year, up from 58 in 2011.

The "Big One for ONE DROP" event, which will have a buy-in of $1,000,000, will be getting underway at 1:11 pm on Sunday, July 1st. According to the World Series of Poker, this event will likely produce the largest first place prize in poker history.

The $10,000 main event will begin on Saturday, July 7th. Through their official Twitter account, World Series of Poker staff teased that the "November Nine" was coming to an end. Technically speaking, they were right, as the "November Nine" final table is being bumped up a week due to the US Presidential election. The final table will now get underway on October 28th, with the main event winner being declared on October 30th.
