European Poker Tour - Casino Barcelona - LogoIlari "Ziigmund" Sahamies isn't exactly known for his "live" tournament results.

Despite being one of the biggest names in the poker world, Sahamies only had two six figure "live" tournament cashes to his name prior to this week. In January of 2009, Sahamies finished in second place in the Helsinki Freezeout for $170,434, and later that year finished in 6th place in the EPT London High Roller for $117,804. Sahamies' fame and money has come from his success in online poker, as he has made millions of dollars under the aliases of "Ziigmund" (Full Tilt Poker) and Ilari FIN (Pokerstars).

This past week, Sahamies' live game came together at the EPT Barcelona, as he managed to make two final tables and clear well over a million dollars.

"Ziigmund" got things started at the 50k EUR Super High Roller event, taking fourth place for just under 292k EUR (about $358k USD).

"Ziigmund" continued his hot streak into the EPT Barcelona main event, where he eventually finished in second place for 629,700 EUR ($788k). In the last hand of the match, Ilari made an ill-timed push pre-flop holding 9s-5s and was quickly called by Mikalai Pobal, who was holding pocket Aces. The Aces held up, and Pobal walked away with over a million Euros and the title.

Thanks to his fantastic week at the EPT Barcelona, Ilari "Ziigmund" Sahamies now has well over $1.5 million in total lifetime "live" tournament cashes to go along with the millions of dollars that he has made playing online.
