World Series of Poker LogoThe third (and final) Day 1 flight of the World Series of Poker main event has just gotten underway in Las Vegas.

Somewhere in the neighborhood of 3,000 players are expected for Day 1c of this year's main event, with that crowd of players including some of the biggest names in poker, including the likes of Phil Ivey, Daniel Negreanu and Phil Hellmuth. All three of these players have won a bracelet over the past 12 months, with Hellmuth taking down the WSOPE main event, Ivey taking down a mixed game event at the WSOP APAC and Negreanu taking down the WSOP APAC main event. All three of these players will be looking to intimidate and run over the amateur players at their tables.

Some of the other notable names who are playing Day 1c:

Joe Hachem
Brian Hastings
Nick Schulman
Jennifer Harman
Vanessa Rousso
Huck Seed
Jonathan Duhamel
Cole South
Jason Mercier
Antonio Esfandiari
Phil Laak
Vanessa Selbst
Bertrand Grospellier

As mentioned, roughly 3,000 players are expected to turn out today. Combine this with the 943 players that turned out for Day 1a and the 1,942 people who played on Day 1b, and you have a likely field size of around 6,000 players.
