Bonomo was tantalizingly close to taking down this event, as he had a very large chip lead over Hinkle during heads-up play. Hinkle, however, was able to battle back from the brink of elimination to take down the biggest win of his career.

The final hand of the event saw the two players get all-in with the board reading Qd-9s-5c-Jc. The two players turned over:

Hinkle - Ks-10h
Bonomo - Qs-8c

Hinkle had turned the King-high straight, and Bonomo was drawing dead.

All in all, the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open main event was a massive success. Tournament organizers took a leap of faith when they guaranteed a minimum of $10 million in prize money, but the move ended up paying off, as the event ended up with more than 2,000 entries. In addition, most of the participants seemed very happy with how the event was run, which should make for an even bigger turnout next year.
