Both Men Will Be Inducted on November 3rd

The King is looking at the Poker Hall of Fame logoEarlier today it was revealed that Tom McEvoy and Scotty Nguyen will be the two players from this year's ballot to be inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony will take place at the Rio in Las Vegas on November 3rd.

With their upcoming induction, McEvoy and Nguyen will join 40 other players as members of the Poker Hall of Fame. Stu Ungar, Johnny Chan and Chip Reese are just some of the legends that have been inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame in the past.

In order to be inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame, people must meet these criteria:

-must have played against acknowledged top competition
-must have played for high stakes
-must have played consistently well, gaining the respect of peers
-must have stood the test of time
-for non-players, must have contributed to the overall growth and success of the game

Players were nominated through a process that was conducted on WSOP.com. After that, the chosen nominees were voted on by the 18 living members of the Poker Hall of Fame, as well as selected members of the media.

The most recent entrants into the Poker Hall of Fame were Eric Drache and Brian "Sailor" Roberts, both of whom were inducted last year.

"I hold the record with the most nominations before getting elected. I lost the last 4 times, but the 5th time was the charm."
