In 2012, Ivey bested Patrik Antonius during heads-up play to take down the first place prize of $2,000,000 AUD.

This year the turnout for the event was much bigger, which meant that Ivey walked away with $4,000,000 AUD for his victory.

The final table was filled with some of the biggest poker names in the world, as Ivey, Isaac Haxton, Daniel Negreanu and Tom Dwan all cashed in the event. Here is how the tournament ended up finishing out:

1. Phil Ivey, $4,000,000 AUD
2. Isaac Haxton, $2,820,000
3. Mike McDonald, $1,900,000
4. Daniel Negreanu, $1,250,000
5. Fabian Quoss, $800,000
6. Tom Dwan, $500,000

Note: $4,000,000 AUD works out to about $3.57 million USD

The final hand of the tournament came when Haxton decided to make his last stand holding 8s-7d. Ivey asked for a count and eventually made the call, flipping over Ah-6c.

The flop brought an Ace, putting Ivey far in the lead in the hand. The turn brought the 7s, which gave Haxton a bit of hope, but the 3s on the river sealed the deal for Ivey.
