Kevin MacPhee Leads WSOPE Main Event

The World Series of Poker Europe - LogoKevin MacPhee finished Day 3 of the World Series of Poker Europe event as the chip leader and will look to build on his lead when Day 4 gets underway on Thursday afternoon.

Of the original 313 entrants who entered themselves into the World Series of Poker Europe main event this year, just 21 remained at the conclusion of Day 3 on Wednesday. A number of big names, including the likes of Erik Seidel and Andrew Lichtenberger, are still alive.

The prize pool for this 10k EUR buy-in event is a little over 3 million Euros, which means that the winner of the tournament will walk away with 883,000 EUR. All 21 of the remaining players are guaranteed to walk away with a minimum of 23,500 EUR, while all 8 of the final table participants will guarantee themselves a minimum payout of 75,000 EUR.

Day 3 saw some familiar names fall, as Liv Boeree, Will Failla and Shannon Shorr were all dispatched short of the money.
