Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure - PCA 2016 - Logo on top of Vegas lights imageGiven the popularity of the Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure, there should be no surprise that the $100,000 Super High Roller event has had a strong turnout.

According to Pokerstars, 43 players registered to play on Day 1 of the event, including the likes of Daniel Negreanu and Isaac Haxton. There were a total of six re-entries on Day 1, with Bill Perkins accounting for a number of them.

A total of 35 players made it to the end of Day 1, though late registration in the event will continue early into Day 2.

Talal Shakerchi finished as the Day 1 chip leader, as he was able to amass a total of 805,000 in chips.

Some of the other players who were near the top of the leaderboard at the end of Day 1 included:

Nick Petrangelo, 800,000
Kathy Lehne, 783,000
David Peters, 772,000
Joe McKeehen, 732,000

Fedor Holz, fresh off of his victories in High Roller events in Las Vegas and the Philippines, finished Day 1 with 205,000 in chips.

Daniel Negreanu, who will be playing the Super High Roller and main events at the 2016 PCA, finished Day 1 with 185,000 in chips. Negreanu, however, was not forced to re-buy.

Isaac Haxton, who recently decided to part ways with Pokerstars, finished Day 1 with 176,000 in chips.

Payouts for the Super High Roller event will be known in a few hours once late registration closes.
