According to Pokerstars, 43 players registered to play on Day 1 of the event, including the likes of Daniel Negreanu and Isaac Haxton. There were a total of six re-entries on Day 1, with Bill Perkins accounting for a number of them.

A total of 35 players made it to the end of Day 1, though late registration in the event will continue early into Day 2.

Talal Shakerchi finished as the Day 1 chip leader, as he was able to amass a total of 805,000 in chips.

Some of the other players who were near the top of the leaderboard at the end of Day 1 included:

Kathy Lehne, 783,000
David Peters, 772,000
