Annette Obrestad at the poker table - smilingWhat a story.

Annette "Annette_15" Obrestad, still a teenager, took down the World Series of Poker Europe main event early Monday morning, taking home a first place prize of 1 million pounds and a shiny new WSOPE bracelet as well.

Annette_15, the online teenaged superstar from Norway, is one of the most-followed poker players in the world. With this victory, she will become a bonafide poker superstar, and Betfair was extremely wise to ink her to a deal a few days ago.

The heads-up battle between Annette and John Tabatabai lasted hours, as Tabatabai put up a great fight. The final hand saw all the money get in on a flop of 5 6 7. Tabatabai held top two pair, but Annette had flopped a set of sevens.

Annette bested a field filled with many top live and online pros, and certainly deserved the win. This is certainly the first of many live poker championships for the phenom known as "Annette_15."

Annette first started her poker career playing online freerolls. She claims that she never deposited to start her online bankroll, and instead grinded it out, playing freerolls until she had enough to move to real money buy-in tournaments. She started at the bottom and has worked her way up to the top of the poker world.
