With a live crowd cheering him on, Hoyt Corkins, dressed in a cowboy hat and boots, won the World Poker Finals. An Alabama native who is a true cowboy in every sense of the word, Corkins put our Mohamed Ibrahim to claim the title and take home $1 million dollars.

Not only was there a large audience cheering him on, but this event is part of the World Poker Tour, a very successful poker program that airs on the Travel Channel, so millions of people will witness his victory.

Hoyt Corkins won in much the same manner that Chris Moneymaker won at the World Series of Poker; he played aggressively and went all in a number of times, forcing his opponents to fold often.

The World Poker Finals took place over a couple of weeks, but the final No Limit Hold'em game was decided over a grueling 3 days. The 3 day final set a prize pool record for the World Poker Tour; 3.15 million dollars, showing that poker and the World Poker Tour are rapidly gaining momentum.
