Jimmy "Gobboboy" Fricke took down event #7 of the Bellagio Cup IV on Thursday evening for over $400,000. The event had a buy-in of $5000+$180 - there were 238 entrants, which created a total prizepool of over $1.1 million dollars.

This event was not covered by any of the major poker websites, so details regarding big hands at the final table and the exact order of elimination won't be known until later.

This is the second six-figure plus "live" cash of Fricke's young poker career. He finished in second place at the 2007 Aussie Millions main event, taking down almost $800k US. Fricke is an immensely talented player, and we're sure that they are many more big cashes to come in his career.

Again, we don't have any details of the final table at this time, but the end of day chip counts as of late night contained a number of very well-known players. "Gobboboy" finished Day 1 with a stack of over 517k. This was almost 200k more than the next closest competitor, which was David "The Dragon" Pham.

The remaining 19 players after Day 1 also included: Johnny Lodden, Praz Bansi, Isaac Haxton, Shannon Shorr, Eric "sheets" Haber and Alec Torelli. A fairly small field of 238 players, but an extremely stacked one.

Shannon Shorr continued his torrid play as of late, finishing third in the tournament. This final table appearance comes just a few days after Shorr took down the $3k No Limit Hold'em event for $247k. This victory right after four World Series of Poker cashes, including a second place finish in the $2k NLHE event for $349k. Shorr now has close to $3 million dollars in total cashes in his career. He also continues to dominate Bellagio Cup events.

Congratulations to Jimmy "Gobboboy" Fricke on his impressive victory.
