-- Vanessa Selbst in a deep thinking poseVanessa Selbst overcame a stacked final table to win the NAPT Mohegan Sun main event title on Sunday afternoon.

Selbst didn't just win - she dominated. After gaining the chip lead early on at the final table, Selbst didn't look back, dispatching of her opponents in rapid succession.

Selbst took home $750,000 for her victory, which is the largest cash of her career. This is the second major title for Selbst - she also won a $1,500 PLO event at the 2008 World Series of Poker for $227,933.

With her victory on Sunday, Selbst now has about $1.65 million in total lifetime tournament cashes - not bad for someone who is a part-time member of the tournament circuit (Selbst also attends law school in addition to owning live tournaments).

Here is how the final table of the NAPT Mohegan Sun main event finished out:

1. Vanessa Selbst, $750,000
2. Mike Beasley, $428,000
3. Mike Woods, $240,000
4. Scott Seiver, $190,000
5. Alistar Melville, $150,000
6. Derek Raymond, $115,000
7. Cliff Josephy, $85,000
8. Jonathan Aguiar, $60,244

Selbst entered heads-up play against Mike Beasley with a 6-1 chip lead, and finished him off a short time later. Beasley decided to shove with Qh-Ts, Selbst called with Ah-8s, the board helped neither player and Selbst walked away with the title.

Congratulations to Vanessa Selbst on an extremely impressive victory.

Next up at the NAPT Mohegan Sun - the $25k Bounty Shootout, which gets under way at noon local time on Monday.
