Jonathan Duhamel Poker Profile

Jonathan Duhamel is a member of the 2010 "November Nine" and will be the tournament chip leader when play resumes in November.

Jonathan Duhamel is from Boucherville, Quebec, Canada.

According to his profile on WSOP.com, Duhamel was born in 1987.

Jonathan Duhamel faced the same major decision that many young poker players have to deal with at some point in their careers - stay in school or make the leap to become a professional poker player? In Duhamel's case, he chose to become a professional poker player, putting his pursuit of a career in finance on hold. The move has obviously paid off, as Duhamel stands to make millions of dollars thanks to his final table appearance in the World Series of Poker main event.

This will be the eighth "live" cash of Duhamel's career. Prior to his appearance at the World Series of Poker final table, Duhamel's largest ever cash came in the EPT Prague main event in 2008, where he ended up finishing in 10th place for $54,904. Duhamel's other five figure score came in the 2010 PCA main event, where he ended up finishing in 151st place for $17,500.

Prior to cashing in the main event, Duhamel had two other cashes at the 2010 World Series of Poker:

$2,500 NLHE, 15th, $37,276
$1,500 NLHE (6-Max), 50th, $5,724

Prior to his appearance at the "November Nine" final table, Duhamel had just under $120k in total lifetime tournament cashes. Now the young Canadian player has a chance to win nearly $9 million when the final table of the 2010 World Series of Poker main event resumes in November.

Jonathan Duhamel's appearance at the final table almost didn't happen, as he needed a suck-out against Matt Affleck to prevent himself from being crippled.

Duhamel and Affleck were involved in a MASSIVE pot with just 15 players left that saw Duhamel add 42 million chips to his stack and Affleck depart the tournament heartbroken.

With the board reading 10d-9c-7h-Qd, the two players got their stacks into the middle of the table, forming a 42 million chip pot. Affleck turned over his pocket Aces while Duhamel flipped over his pocket Jacks.

The river? The Eight of Diamonds, giving Duhamel the straight and the MONSTER pot. Duhamel had managed to suck out, and Affleck was forced to depart the tournament area, wondering about what might have been.

Jonathan Duhamel will have a chance to make himself part of poker history when the WSOP final table resumes in November.
