The poker world weight loss bet has been settled. The million dollar weight loss/body fat prop bet between Shaun Deeb and Bill Perkins is officially done.

Last night, via his Twitter account, Shaun Deeb announced that he has accepted a $800,000 buyout from Bill Perkins to settle the weight loss prop bet.

-

Roughly a year ago, Deeb and Bill Perkins, who is known for making outlandish prop bets with people, announced that they had agreed to terms on a body fat percentage prop bet that would last until the start of the 2024 World Series of Poker.

Deeb, who weighed in at 306 pounds at the time, would have until the end of May (2024) to get himself down to a 17% body fat percentage.

Bill Perkins was offering 10/1 odds - if Deeb accomplished his goal, he would receive $1 million.

If Deeb couldn't reach a 17% body fat percentage by the end of May, 2024, he would have to cough up $100,000 of his own.

There were many side bets placed on the outcome.

-

Deeb, who had a body fat percentage of roughly 40% when the bet started, quickly got to work, shedding weight at a rapid clip.

In a recent update, Deeb stated that he was weighing in at 223, and had a body fat percentage of a little under 24%.

While there was still quite a bit of work for Deeb to do, many agreed that he was now a favorite to win the wager.

Perkins obviously agreed, and the two sides arrived at a $800,000 buyout number, which Deeb ultimately ended up accepting.

-

Deeb revealed that he will still attempt to get to the 17% body fat mark, not only to show his kids what is possible when you set your mind to something, but also so that all of the side bets can be settled.
