It is expected that more than 6600 people will be playing in this year's World Series of Poker. With that record number of entrants, you could probably say that there is a good chance that an unknown could win again this year. However, with the way that Phil Ivey is playing lately, I wouldn't be so sure. He seems to be on a collision course with a bracelet at the final event.

Phil Ivey, in his last two tournaments, cashed at the World Poker Tour championship event, which had an incredibly rich field of entrants, and just finished 2nd in the WSOP circuit event, losing to Jeff Lisandro. Two very strong finishes in two very tough fields. You have to think that with Phil Ivey's aggressive style of play, that he will be able to work up a fairly substantial stack playing all of those less experienced players at the World Series of Poker.

Several places offer betting on the World Series of Poker. If you took Ivey and Michael Mizrachi to win as your two choices, you would probably stand a good chance of winning. These are the two hottest players on the tour right now.
