First Five WCOOP Events Have All Easily Topped Their Guarantees

The King is sitting in his chair talking about the 2010 WCOOP startThe 2010 WCOOP (World Championship of Online Poker) on Pokerstars is off to a roaring start, as the first five events on this year's schedule have all easily surpassed their guarantees.

This year's WCOOP kicked off with a $215 NLHE 6-Max that featured a guaranteed prize pool of $1.25 million. WCOOP #1, which was eventually won by "AlexKP" from London, ended up with 9,001 entries and a total prize pool of over $1.8 million.

Event #2 ($10,300 NLHE High Roller) had a guaranteed prize pool of $2 million. 313 people, including some of the best poker players in the world, decided to try their luck in this event, which ended up creating a total prize pool of $3.13 million. "CrabMaki" from Hornchurch, UK ended up walking away with the WCOOP bracelet and just over $600k after outlasting this very tough field.

Event #3 ($215 NLHE) featured a total guaranteed prize pool of $2 million as well. 12,066 players ended up turning out for the event, which created a total prize pool of $2,413,200. "joao bauer" from Goiania, Brazil was able to successfully navigate through this massive field and walk away with over $300k.

Event #4 ($320 PLO) and Event #5 ($320 NLHE, 6-Max Shootout) just got underway, with both tournaments easily surpassing their guarantees as well.

1805 players ended up turning out for Event #4, which created a total prize pool of $541,500. Pokerstars had guaranteed $200,000 for this event.

Event #5 ($320 NLHE, 6-Max Shootout) ended up filling to capacity (1,296 players), meaning that the $300k Guarantee was easily topped as well ($388,800).

Event #6 ($215+R NLHE Turbo) gets underway in a few hours.
