What is a "misdeal" in the game of poker? What is the definition of the term "misdeal" in poker?

A "misdeal" in poker occurs when a dealer deals a hand incorrectly.

A misdeal will result in all of the cards being collected, shuffled and dealt again.

For instance - let's say that you are playing in a ring game at your local casino.

The dealer starts to deal the hand, but quickly realizes that they started dealing cards to the wrong person. This would result in a "misdeal", which would result in the dealer collecting all of the cards, shuffling them and dealing again.

Another example of a "misdeal" would be if a dealer accidentally dealt all players three cards in a Hold'em game instead of two.
