Definition of Worst Hand
What does the term "worst hand" mean in poker? What is the definition of the term "worst hand"?
In poker, the "worst hand" is also known as the losing hand.
For instance, let's say that you are playing in a late night game at your local casino. With the board reading Kh-Kd-5s-6d-7h, you push all-in holding 8h-9h. Your opponent snap calls and flips over Ks-5h for a flopped full house.
In this case, you had the "worst hand", as you were beaten by your opponent's full house. As a matter of fact, you had the worst hand pre-flop, the worst hand after the flop, plus the worst hand after both the turn and river. Your opponent played the hand slow, drawing you into a trap and extracting all of your chips once you hit a straight on the river.
In this case, your opponent obviously had the "best hand", aka the "winning hand".
