Casino Employees Event to Kick Off 2011 WSOP

World Series of Poker 2011 - Official GraphicIn less than 24 hours, the 2011 World Series of Poker will kick off at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

The first official event of the year will be the $500 Casino Employees No Limit Hold'em event which will begin at 12 pm (local time) on Tuesday afternoon.

The first event that is open to the general public will be the $25,000 Heads-Up No Limit Hold'em Championship (256 Max) that will get underway at 5 pm on Tuesday afternoon. The field will be a who's who of the poker world, as names such as Daniel Negreanu, Phil Ivey and Tom "durrrr" Dwan are all expected to participate. Many of the players who plan on playing the $25k HU event tomorrow attended the Erick Lindgren/Erica Schoenberg wedding in Santa Barbara yesterday, and they are currently making their ways back to Las Vegas today.

Some of the notable events that will be getting started during the first week of this year's WSOP are:

May 31st - $25,000 Heads Up No Limit Hold'em
June 1st - $5,000 NLHE
June 2nd - WSOP Rematches (Moneymaker vs Farha, Chan vs Hellmuth and Seidel vs Chan)
June 3rd - $10,000 Pot-Limit Hold'em Championship
June 6th - $10,000 Omaha Hi/Low Split-8 or Better

Who will win this year's main event? Who will end up turning in the most dominant performance of the series? Who will show up? Will there be any multiple bracelet winners? What kind of a turnout will there be for the main event this year? We'll start to find out the answers to some of these questions tomorrow..
