GoDaddy and WSOP (World Series of Poker) logosAccording to the World Series of Poker, Godaddy.com has signed on to become a "premier sponsor" for the remainder of the 2011 WSOP.

According to the terms of the deal, Godaddy.com will have television integration and "on-site branding" for the remainder of this year's World Series of Poker.

Since the start of the "online poker boom" back in 2003, the World Series of Poker has had a number of different premier sponsors.

Party Poker and the World Series of Poker had a sponsorship deal back in the glory days of online poker.

Party Poker decided to extend their deal with the World Series of Poker back in 2007, despite the fact that the UIGEA had just been passed into law, which resulted in Party Poker pulling out of the US market. The two sides decided that PartyPoker.net would be the new official premier sponsor of the tournament series.

In 2008, Everest Poker replaced Party Poker after inking a multi-year deal with the World Series of Poker. The three-year, $22.5 million on-felt sponsorship deal would eventually end up falling apart after Everest Poker alleged that their logo wasn't being shown on some international broadcasts of the World Series of Poker. Everest Poker (through Ultra Internet Media) ended up suing the World Series of Poker for breach of contract.
