Winner of Event #2 To Take Home $553,906

World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2013 - Chip481 players turned out for the first open event of the 2013 World Series of Poker, creating a total prize pool of $2,260,700.

The 2013 World Series of Poker kicked off with the $500 Casino Employees event, which got underway at 12 pm on Wednesday afternoon. The first open event of the series, Event #2 ($5,000 No Limit Hold'em Eight Handed), got underway a few hours later.

Many of the top names in the poker world, including Phil Hellmuth, Phil Ivey and Daniel Negreanu, turned out for Event #2. As of this moment, the only player of those three names that is still alive in the event is Phil Hellmuth.
