2013 WCOOP To Feature $40 Million in Total Guaranteed Prize Money

The World Championship of Online Poker - WCOOP - 2013 - GraphicEarlier this week, Pokerstars released the finalized version of the 2013 WCOOP (World Championship of Online Poker) schedule.

This year's WCOOP will feature a total of 66 events and $40 million in total guaranteed prize money. The first event of this year's WCOOP will get underway at 8 am on September 8th, while the last event of the series will kick off at 2:30 pm on September 29th.

This year's WCOOP main event will have a total guaranteed prize pool of $8 million, with the eventual winner of the tournament taking home a minimum of $1.25 million. The tournament, as in past years, will have a total buy-in of $5,200.

There will be a wide range of different games represented in this year's WCOOP, including:

-NLHE, PLO, NL Draw, 7-Card Stud, Badugi, 5-Card Omaha Hi/Lo, 8-Game and PL Courchevel Hi/Lo

There will be a total of three "High Roller" events this year:

Event #23 - $10,300 NL Hold'em [8-Max, 2x Chance]
Event #44 - $10,300 NL Hold'em [High Roller Heads Up]
Event #65 - $10,300 8-Game

Each of the 66 WCOOP events will have a corresponding "Second Chance" event that will get underway a few hours later.

Pokerstars also revealed that they are bringing back the Player of the Series leader board for this year's WCOOP, with the top point getter earning a prize package that is valued at nearly $30,000. This package includes a 2014 PCA package and a 2014 WCOOP main event ticket.
