Atlantic City Skyline - IllustrationIf you've been around the online poker world for a number of years, you'll know that there was a time when Party Poker was the #1 online poker site in the world.

There was a time, prior to the UIGEA being signed into law in the United States, when Party Poker was the 800 pound gorilla of the online poker world. Party Poker pulled out of the United States after UIGEA while Pokerstars stayed in, and the rest is history. Pokerstars has been the world's largest poker site ever since.

After years of trying to catch up, Party Poker can once again claim the title of being #1 - at least in the New Jersey market, anyways.

The "full launch" of New Jersey's online gaming market took place last week. There have been some issues, but overall the early numbers look promising. As a matter of fact, the early returns look so strong that NJ Governor Chris Christie is still predicting that online gambling in the state will produce $1 billion in casino revenues by July 1st.

According to Pokerscout.com, two sites are dominating in New Jersey so far.

Party Borgata, which hosted their first $50,000 Guaranteed tournament this past Sunday, is currently New Jersey's largest online poker site by a large margin. NJ.PartyPoker.com and Borgatapoker.com combined for a 24 hour cash game player peak of 513 players, putting them ahead of the competition.

Next up on the list was WSOP, which had a peak of 367 cash game players over the past 24 hours.

All American Poker Network - 888 (99 cash game player peak) and Ultimate (55 cash game player peak) have gotten off to respectable starts, but both lag far behind Party Borgata and WSOP.
