As we predicted about a month ago, Daniel Negreanu has signed on with Pokerstars.com to become one of their new spokespeople. Any players at Negreanu's current site, FullContactPoker, will automatically be shifted over to Pokerstars, and will have the option of continuing their play there.

daniel negreanuFor Negreanu, Pokerstars is the best choice in our eyes. Full Tilt Poker was another obvious stop for Negreanu, but they are already so full of name endorsements, and because of this, Pokerstars can likely offer the best financial deal to Negreanu, plus they are on the most solid financial footing of any of the major poker rooms.

For Poker Stars, the deal makes great sense as well, as they are currently trying to penetrate the Canadian market, and Negreanu is by far the most recognizable Canadian poker player in the world.

We are hearing that this was one of the richest endorsement deals ever signed by a professional poker player. The deal makes great financial sense for both sides. PokerStars will be able to further their reach into non-US markets, and Negreanu will land a great deal, securing himself a healthy yearly salary and numerous paid entry fees to major events.

Expect both sides to comment on this deal over the next few days.
