In terms of "star power", the Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure is second only to the World Series of Poker. Many of the poker world's biggest names (including Daniel Negreanu and likely Phil Ivey) will be in attendance, as will various celebrities from the world of sports and entertainment (Tito Ortiz, Jason Alexander and others).

Add the fact that the tournament series will be played in the warm temperatures and pristine surroundings of the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas and you have one of the most anticipated poker tournaments of the year.

Things are set to kick off on Tuesday with the $100,000 Super High Roller event.

Last year's $100k Super High Roller, which was eventually won by Fabian Quoss of Germany, attracted a total of 45 players (after rebuys there were 56 total entries).

Earlier today, the Pokerstars PCA Twitter account said that 40 players had already registered for the event. Other players, such as Phil Ivey, are still apparently undecided as to whether or not they will play in the tournament.

In short - this year's Super High Roller is likely to finish with a larger field than in 2014. This will mean a larger prize pool than the $5.433 million that was doled out last year and a larger first place prize of $1,629,940 that was awarded to Fabian Quoss.
