Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval and Delaware Governor Jack Markel both released statements earlier today to coincide with the launch of the compact. Gov. Sandoval said that online poker in the two states would now be "more competitive and more enjoyable for its users", while Gov. Markel said that the deal would likely help to grow online poker in both states.

One site in Nevada (WSOP.com) will be participating in the compact, while the Dover Downs, Harrington Raceway and Delaware Park online gaming sites will all be participating in Delaware. Nevada's only other online poker option, Real Gaming, is not part of their playing sharing deal. Ultimate Poker, which was active in both New Jersey and Nevada, shut down late last year.

Both Nevada and Delaware have been struggling to gain traction when it comes to their legal online poker sites and there is obviously a hope that this compact will help to increase player numbers for both states.

New Jersey, which is the only other state to offer legal online poker, is not a part of the compact but it is obviously hoped that more states will join as state laws change.
