2017 WSOP To Get Underway on May 30th, 2017

Isolated on white background lies the World Series of Poker black and white chip.  Facing up.You had better start planning your summer, as the World Series of Poker released the dates for the 2017 WSOP earlier today.

The 48th edition of the World Series of Poker will officially kick off on Tuesday, May 30th, 2017 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. The tournament will run for 49 straight days before concluding on Monday, July 17th, 2017, which is when the "November Nine" will be officially set in the World Series of Poker main event.

World Series of Poker organizers have announced that a number of popular tournaments will be back in 2017, including the third edition of the "Colossus" event.

"Colossus III", which will feature a buy-in of $565, will have two starting flights per day over the course of three days - Friday, June 2nd, 2017, Saturday, June 3th, 2017 and Sunday, June 4th, 2017. Players who are eliminated can re-enter in subsequent flights.

In addition, other popular events, including the Millionaire Maker, Monster Stack, Little One for ONE DROP, Seniors Event and Ladies Championship will also be brought back in 2017.

The first event of the schedule will be the Casino Employees tournament, which will get underway on Wednesday, May 31st, 2017.

The final schedule for the 2017 World Series of Poker is reportedly going to be released in February of 2017.

Tournament organizers are promising some new "wrinkles and additions" based on feedback from players. Tournament organizers have also said that more than 70 bracelet events are slated to take place in 2017.
