Aria Las Vegas - Photo of hotel and resort from the outside on a cludy day.The 2017 Super High Roller Bowl is set to get underway on May 28th in Las Vegas.

The event, which will run from May 28th until June 1st, has a buy-in of $300,000. With a total of 56 confirmed participants (and a waiting list of at least 15 players in case somebody decides to drop out), the prize pool is going to be nearly $17 million. The eventual winner of the event will take home $6 million, while the runner-up will receive $3.6 million. The top 7 spots will pay out, with the 7th place finisher receiving $600,000.

The tournament has proven to be so popular that tournament organizers actually held a lottery to see who would claim the 35 open seats to the event. A number of big names, including Daniel Negreanu, missed out on getting a seat in the lottery, though the Aria had 20 reserved seats that they ended up giving to players such as Negreanu, Bobby Baldwin, Bill Perkins and Jason Mercier.

In addition, the ARIA announced last week that Kevin Hart would be claiming the final spot that was being reserved for a "mystery celebrity guest". Some assumed that this would be Michael Phelps, though the tournament was able to land Kevin Hart for the event.

Sure there are a few big names missing from this event (Phil Ivey, Patrik Antonius), though the line-up is very, very strong. This tournament will set off the coming summer of poker very nicely.
