Tournament Series Will Run From January 17th-February 5th 2018
Published on August 7th, 2017 1:54 pm ESTThe Aussie Millions is one of the most popular stops on the "live" poker tour for a number of reasons.
To start, the tournament takes place at the Crown Casino Melbourne, which is situated in one of the nicest cities in the world. The weather is very nice in January as well, with daily average temperatures of over 20 degrees Celsius.
Many poker players will make the trip to the Pokerstars Championship Bahamas event in early January before flying to Australia for the Aussie Millions. Over the past year or two, however, changes at Pokerstars have led some players to forego the Pokerstars tournament in the Bahamas altogether and head straight for Australia. In addition to a beautiful city and nice weather, the Aussie Millions tournament series also gives poker players the chance to check out the Australian Open tennis tournament, which runs at the same time.

The 2018 Aussie Millions schedule includes a total of 26 major events, ranging from the $10,600 main event to the $100,000 Challenge.
Noticeably absent from the 2018 schedule is the $250,000 Challenge, which has been won by Phil Ivey a total of three times. The event wasn't able to attract enough interest last year, however, and has now been removed from the schedule.
