Poker player - Jason Mercier - giving a peace sign to his listeners. Radio show.Over the past couple of weeks, Pokerstars has lost two high profile members of "Team Pokerstars Pro" - first Vanessa Selbst (who left to pursue a career in the hedge fund industry) and now Jason Mercier.

Mercier and Pokerstars have parted on very good terms, as Mercier is simply looking to spend more time at home with his family (Jason and his wife Natasha have a young son named Marco). Being a member of "Team Pokerstars Pro" requires a fair bit of travel, and the life of a full-time tournament pro didn't mesh well with the life of a new husband and father, so Mercier decided to part ways with Pokerstars.

Mercier has said that he still plans on playing in events in Florida, as well as the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas in the summer.

Mercier has enjoyed a tremendous amount of success over the course of his poker career so far, as he has managed to compile nearly $20 million in total cashes and win five World Series of Poker bracelets. This includes victories in the $10,000 HORSE Championship in 2016 and the $5,000 No Limit Hold'em event in 2015.

As of this moment, Mercier is currently 15th on the all-time money list, just behind the likes of Brian Rast and Bryn Kenney.

Losing Jason Mercier is going to be a big hit to the stable of sponsored Pokerstars' players.

After all, Mercier is an immensely likeable person who is one of the very best poker players in the world. He represented the Pokerstars' brand extremely well over the 8 1/2 years that he was with the company.
