Tournament Series Set To Begin on May 6th

It's set to be an incredible May for online poker players as Pokerstars' Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) will be going head-to-head with partypoker's "Powerfest" Series.

There is going to be more than $100 million in guaranteed prize money between the two festivals, as this year's SCOOP will be guaranteeing a total of $65 million, while Powerfest will be guaranteeing $40 million.

"Powerfest" will be running from May 6-20, while the 2018 SCOOP will run from May 6-May 21.

Earlier today, Pokerstars put out a press release in which they announced the details of the upcoming SCOOP series. According to the site, $65 million is the most money that they have ever guaranteed for the Spring Championship of Online Poker.

In addition, Pokerstars will be hosting at least one event each day over the entirety of the series that will have a guaranteed prize pool of at least $1 million, with some days featuring multiple events with $1 million+ guarantees.

A total of 5 players will be receiving $30,000 "Platinum Passes" as well, which will give the lucky recipients entry to the 2019 Pokerstars Players No Limit Hold'em Championship that will be held at the PCA. The winner of each main event (Low, Medium, High) will receive a Platinum Pass, as well as the SCOOP tournament leaderboard winner. The fifth Platinum Pass will be awarded to the winner of an all-in shootout.

The main events (to be held on Sunday, May 21st) will have buy-ins of $109 ($1.5 million guaranteed), $1,050 ($4 million guaranteed) and $10,300 ($5 million guaranteed).

The biggest single buy-in of the series belongs to SCOOP-14-H, which is a NLHE event that features a buy-in of $25,000 and a total guaranteed prize pool of $2.5 million.
