"Elky" To Become partypoker.eu Ambassador

In a move that surprised absolutely nobody, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier signed on as a partypoker Ambassador earlier this week. With this signing, partypoker continues to build an impressive stable of ambassadors that includes the likes of Grospellier, Isaac Haxton and Fedor Holz. With Pokerstars culling their list of sponsored pros significantly over the past couple of years, partypoker now boasts a similarly impressive line-up of sponsored talent.

"ElkY" and Pokerstars had a seemingly nasty split earlier in the year, with Grospellier taking to his Twitter account to throw a couple of shots at the company on the way out. More specifically, "ElkY" did not seem to be pleased with the new leadership at Pokerstars.
With his large following and many successes on the live tournament scene, many figured that "ElkY" would soon land at another poker room, with partypoker seeming to be the likeliest landing spot. partypoker has been taking direct aim at Pokerstars as of late (Powerfest, partypoker LIVE, signing of sponsored players), and the signing of "ElkY" should help those efforts as it further legitimizes partypoker's efforts.

According to partypoker, "ElkY" will specifically be a partypoker.eu ambassador.
Later this year, partypoker will be opening a new shared liquidity pool on partypoker.eu that will feature both Spanish and French players. partypoker has said that they wish to use "ElkY" to help make the public aware of this launch and of the benefits of playing on partypoker.eu.
