Partnership with Mount Airy Casino Resort Announced on Friday

On Friday morning, The Stars Group (parent company of Pokerstars) and Mount Airy Casino Resort announced that they had partnered up to enter Pennsylvania's online gaming market.

As part of the agreement, The Stars Group will be providing its poker, casino and sports betting products, while Mount Airy Casino Resort will be leveraging its current customers that would like to play online.

The Stars Group/Mount Airy Casino Resort will need to secure licensing from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board prior to launch in the state.

The online gambling landscape in the United States is rapidly changing due to a recent ruling from the Supreme Court that removed the ban on sports betting at the federal level.

States now have the option to offer sports betting to residents, and many are quickly jumping on board, looking to take advantage of a potentially new and lucrative stream of revenue. Some states have already launched sports betting, including New Jersey and Delaware, while others are expecting to launch over the next year.

Pokerstars has been preparing for this for years now, as they first launched their own casino and sports betting products, only to follow up with an acquisition of Sky Betting and Gaming. With their strong brand, clean operating history since the resolution of their legal issues with the US government and growing suite of products, Pokerstars is poised to do very well in the newly opening US online gaming market, which is still the crown jewel of the global gaming market.

This news comes on the heels of The Stars Group announcing that they had extended their deal with Resorts Casino Hotel to include online sports wagering in the state of New Jersey.
