95 €100,000 Entries Generates Total Prize Pool of over €9 Million
Published on October 27th, 2018 11:09 am ESTLast year, the World Series of Poker Europe hosted the High Roller for One Drop event, which ended up attracting 88 unique entries and a total of 44 rebuys. This ended up building a very healthy prize pool of almost €13 million, which was quite a bit higher than the guaranteed prize pool of €10,000,000.
This year, tournament organizers were expecting that the €100,000 Super High Roller event would do significantly smaller numbers, with the guarantee having been set at €5 million.
In the end, the turnout for the €100,000 Super High Roller event ended up being very healthy, as there were a total of 95 entries and re-entries this year, which ended up creating a prize pool of over €9 million. Not as much as the One Drop event last year, though still significantly ahead of expectations.
This prize pool means that the eventual winner of the event will take home €2,624,340, which translates into nearly $3 million USD.
All eight final table participants will be guaranteed a minimum payout of €264,110.
