Players Descending Upon Bahamas For 2019 PCA

The 2019 edition of the Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure is taking place at the Atlantic Casino in Bahamas. Looks very sunny! - PSPC is in the spotlight.2018 wasn't exactly the best year for Pokerstars and its parent company, The Stars Group.

Shares of The Stars Group fell off a cliff this year, and competition such as partypoker did a good job of stealing some of Pokerstars' thunder.

The momentum is set to shift back to Pokerstars in the first week of January, however, as the PSPC (Pokerstars Players NL Hold'em Championship) gets underway at the 2019 Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure.

Pokerstars has been pushing the PSPC for well over a year now via the $30,000 "Platinum Pass". Platinum Passes have been handed out by the truckload to winners of live tournaments, online tournaments on Pokerstars and winners of "special challenges", just to name a few.

Pokerstars has built awareness for the event by handling out Platinum Passes to streamers on Twitch.tv ("All in Pav") and big names in online poker media ("Kevmath"). They were looking to build buzz for the event and their strategy has certainly worked.

Pokerstars handed out more than 300 Platinum Pass packages in 2018, and they will also be adding $1 million to first place.

By adding this much money to the prize pool, Pokerstars is also enticing professional players to the tournament series, where they will also likely play in a number of other events that take place throughout the course of the festival. Which pro player is going to say no to taking part in the PSPC, which has had so much money added to the prize pool?

The 2019 PCA will be hosting a number of big events, including the $25k PSPC, the $10,300 PCA main event and the $100,000 Super High Roller, just to name a few.
