Poker player Shaun Deeb has been quite a cashing machine lately. Illustration.Shaun Deeb is chasing his second straight WSOP Player of the Year title and currently sits in third place on the leaderboard as the World Series of Poker races towards its conclusion.

Here is the top of the WSOP POY leaderboard as of this moment:

1. Daniel Zack, 2,920.76
2. Phillip Hui, 2,830.68
3. Shaun Deeb, 2,393.50
4. Scott Clements, 2,368.02
5. Jason Gooch, 2,268.02

So far this summer, Deeb has been a cashing machine, as he has cashed in a total of 13 different events.

Deeb has made a number of deep runs this summer, including a final table appearance in the $50k PPC (5th place for $232,058), a second place finish in the $10k Dealers Choice 6-Handed (2nd for $193,090) and a 9th place finish in the $10k Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better for $34,467.

In addition, Deeb made multiple other deep runs that saw him make the final two tables.

The WSOP POY race extends to this fall's World Series of Poker Europe, so don't be surprised at all to see Deeb make a trip to Europe in order to try to defend his title.

Deeb is proving once again that he is one of the best all-around poker players in the world.

Let's not forget that Shaun Deeb owns four World Series of Poker bracelets despite being just 33 years of age.

In addition, Deeb owns five World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) and five Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) titles, and has proven to be comfortable in practically any variant of poker that is thrown at him.

In short - don't bet against Deeb winning his second straight WSOP POY title, despite the fact that he is currently over 500 points behind Daniel Zack on the leaderboard.
