WSOP 2020 Schedule Continues To Take Shape

Nineteen brand new events have been recently added to the upcoming World Series of Poker. Vegas skyline.The slow drip of news from the organizers of the World Series of Poker continued earlier today, as the schedule for the 2020 WSOP $1,500 buy-in events was released.

In total, the World Series of Poker revealed that 25 events with a buy-in of $1,500 have been added to the 2020 World Series of Poker schedule. In total, these 25 events will be include 18 different game types, and 12 of them will be in the freezeout format.

The World Series of Poker has put a cap on the number of re-entries that will be allowed for events, and the $1,500 tournaments will be no different. For the tournaments that aren't in the freezeout format, most will only allow a maximum of 1 re-entry for the entire tournament. The Millionaire Maker and CLOSER tournaments will allow for one re-entry per flight.

All of the $1,500 events will have a minimum starting stack of at least 25,000 chips.

Of the 25 $1,500 events on the schedule this year, a total of 19 will be brand new events.

$1,500 tournaments will be offered in games such as No Limit Hold'em, Dealers Choice, Seven Card Stud, Limit 2-7 Lowball Triple Draw and RAZZ.

The World Series of Poker is attempting to cash in on the popularity of Bounty tournaments as well, as three of the new $1,500 events (Super Turbo, No Limit Hold'em, Pot Limit Omaha) will be bounty events with $500 bounties.

The first $1,500 tournament on the schedule ($1,500 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better) gets underway on May 28th.

The last $1,500 tournament on the schedule ($1,500 Eight Game Mix) gets underway on July 12th.
