WPT Barcelona, MILLIONS Cyprus Amongst Events That Have Been Postponed

The black swan event is affecting the poker 2020.The Coronavirus is also having an impact on the poker world, as multiple major events were postponed earlier this week.

On Monday, partypoker announced that two major events - the WPT Barcelona festival and the inaugural MILLIONS Cyprus - have been postponed due to the Coronavirus outbreak.

The MILLIONS Cyprus, which has scheduled to take place from May 3rd to May 11th, has been rescheduled for August 26th - September 5th.

There is no word as to when the WPT Barcelona will be taking place.

partypoker said that they "thought long and hard" about making these changes.

Other tournaments that have been postponed in recent days include:

1. The Irish Poker Open. This tournament series has been postponed, and tournament organizers say that they are in discussions to move the tournament to a later date.

2. The Winamax Poker Tour Grand Final, which was set to take place from March 19th to March 29th, has been cancelled.

3. The Deep Stack Open Aix De Provence, which has scheduled to run from March 18th to March 22nd, has been cancelled.

There are obviously some other major poker festivals that are in danger of being cancelled/postponed at this point. If you are planning in playing in a tournament over the next couple of months, make sure to keep a close eye on the casino's social media to be alerted of any potential postponements or cancellations.
