The progressive knockout events. In case you noticed a massive hole in the schedule on America's Cardroom, there is a reason for that.

Earlier this week, ACR announced that they were scrapping most of the rest of the MoMoMo PKO Series on the site.

Four of the remaining tournaments would remain - the three $1 million Guaranteed events (October 4th, October 11th and October 18th), as well as the $5 million Venom PKO tournament, which gets underway on October 23rd.

The reason behind the cancellation?

America's Cardroom said that they simply overestimated the demand for a tournament series that featured nothing but PKO (Progressive Knockout) events.

PKO events have surged in popularity over the past couple of years. ACR thought that they would capitalize on this trend with the MoMoMo PKO Series, though they were too aggressive with their guarantees.

ACR said that the tournament series was performing "well below" their expectations and they simply couldn't sustain the "huge" overlays that they were paying out.

Many poker players wanted to ACR to maintain the announced schedule, but with lower guarantees, though the site decided to go this route instead.
