FTOPS XVIII Gets Underway on Full Tilt Poker

FTOPS XVIII Promotional GraphicThe eighteenth installment of the FTOPS (Full Tilt Online Poker Series) got underway on Full Tilt Poker on Wednesday evening.

FTOPS XVIII features a total of 34 different events that are spread out over 12 days. In total, Full Tilt Poker is guaranteeing more than $19 million in prize money.

The first event, which is being hosted by World Series of Poker 2010 main event runner-up John Racener, kicked off earlier this evening. The event is a $200 + $16 No Limit Hold'em tournament that had a guarantee of $800,000. 4,500 people ended up turning out for the event, which created a total prize pool of $900,000.

This event is going to stretch far into the early hours of Thursday morning, as it is currently 5:24 am EST and there are still 31 players left in the tournament. One notable name, "pbdrunks", is still alive and in contention for the $161,100 first place prize.

FTOPS XVIII is going to feature a total of seven "Rush Poker" events, the first of which ($200 + $16 HORSE Rush, $150k Guaranteed) will get underway at 21:00 ET on Thursday.

There are also four tournaments on the FTOPS XVIII schedule that include draw games, including Event #14 (5-Card Draw) and Event #20 (10-Game 6-Max).

The FTOPS XVIII main event, which is set to take place on Sunday, November 21st, will feature a guarantee of $3,000,000. The main event will be hosted by Gus Hansen.
