PAD7 Premiers On Monday With "Big Heat" WeekPublished on January 2nd, 2011 12:53 pm EST
The seventh season of "Poker After Dark" is set to kick off this Monday (January 3rd) with "Big Heat" week.
PAD7 is kicking off in style, as the line-up for "Big Heat" week is a stellar one. Here are the players who will be participating:
Tom "durrrr" Dwan
Phil "OMGClayAiken" Galfond
The traditional $20,000 buy-in has been increased to $100,000 for "Big Heat" week, meaning that the winner of the freezeout will end up walking away with $600,000.
According to the press release that was circulated earlier today, this is only the second time that Tom Dwan has played in a PAD freezeout, as he usually prefers to stick to cash games. According to Wikipedia, Dwan has made a total of 12 appearances on "Poker After Dark". In case you were wondering, Dwan finished in 4th place in the one PAD freezeout that he has participated in.
Phil Ivey, on the other hand, has played in 6 Poker After Dark freezeouts, winning two of them. John Juanda has also won twice on the show, despite having only made 4 appearances. Erick Lindgren and Huck Seed have both yet to win, while Phil "OMGClayAiken" Galfond will be making his first ever appearance on the show.
The six players at the table have a total of 18 WSOP bracelets, $40 million+ in total lifetime tournament cashes and countless millions in cash game earnings. This should be a great week.
The match will begin airing on Monday, January 3rd, at 2:05 am on NBC.
