Ask 100 of the top poker players in the world who the best cash game Pot Limit Omaha poker player is, and most of them will say Sammy Farha.

The trouble with most of the poker world thinking that Sam Farha is the best PLO player out there, is that Farha starts to believe it. Farha has never been one to be shy or modest about himself, but his ego may have gotten the best of him this weekend after he entered into a severely lopsided game with Brandon "wins_pot" Adams and took a severe beating.

For some reason, Farha thought it would be a good idea to enter into a $300 / $600 Heads Up Pot Limit Omaha battle with Adams at the Venetian. It gets better though; Farha agreed to a match in which Adams would have the button EVERY SINGLE HAND. So not only would Adams have positional advantage for each hand, but he would also just be paying the Small Blind every hand.

Now, Adams is a talented poker player. Most talented poker players are going to win in this situation, no matter how good Farha thinks he is at Pot Limit Omaha. Not only do you have positional advantage on every hand, but you are also only paying for the Small Blind.

It took Sammy $700,000 to realize that this probably wasn't the best game selection. Sammy is well-known as being a gambler, but I think his ego might have gotten the best of him on this one.
