World Poker Tour - Alpha 8 St. Kitts - WPT - Logo - Black BackgroundJason Mercier continued to add to his already impressive resume with a win at the WPT Alpha8 event in St. Kitts earlier today for $727,500.

The event, which had a buy-in of $100,000, attracted a total of 15 players, including Olivier Busquet, Antonio Esfandiari and Bill Perkins. Daniel Colman, who has seemingly won every event that he has played in so far this year, also entered the event but was unable to cash.

The top three spots paid - here is how the payouts ended up finishing out:

Jason Mercier, $727,500
Kathy Lehne, $436,500
Tony Guglietti, $291,000

Mercier had this to say about his win on Twitter:

"I won it! Set a goal to win 3 titles in 2014... Late start winning my first one now. Lot more poker to play this month! Let's go!!!!"

With his victory, Jason Mercier now has approximately $13.6 million in total lifetime tournament cashes. This moves Mercier up to #11 on the all-time money list, ahead of Scott Seiver and behind Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi.

Winning two more tournaments in 2014 is a pretty lofty goal for Mercier - however, he has shown in the past that he is capable of getting red-hot at any time.

The final hand of the event came when Lehne pushed all-in on the river with the board showing Qd-5h-Qc-7s-8h. After a bit of thought, Mercier elected to make the call holding Pocket Aces while Lehne turned over Th-8d.

The $436,500 that Kathy Lehne earned was the largest "live" tournament cash of her career.
