1. "durrrr". Tom "durrrr" Dwan is off to a blazing start in March on Full Tilt Poker. He is currently up over $720k in the first two days of March.

He had a particularly good session on Wednesday, dominating the $200/$400 Pot Limit Omaha tables. He won a huge four-way all-in pot against David Benyamine, "Ziigmund" and "ICallSoWhat" that netted him over $275k. "Durrrr" had an overpair and a flush draw after the flop, and the river brought the ace of diamonds, giving "Durrrr" the nut flush and the pot.

"durrrr" is currently up over $2.1 million dollars on Full Tilt Poker in 2008.

2. UIGEA. The proposed UIGEA regulations got ripped to shreds on Wednesday in a congressional hearing that was hosted by the House Financial Services Committee.

There were a number of expert witnesses at the hearing, including the American Banking Association and representatives from the Federal Reserve.

The basic gist of the hearing? The current UIGEA regulations are completely unworkable and put a massive burden on the banks to enforce them. Banks are expected to somehow figure out what is an Internet gambling transaction and what isn't. As you can probably guess, representatives from the banks are not too happy with the proposed regulations, and said so on Wednesday.

As a matter of fact, the proposed UIGEA guidelines are so open for interpretation that no one really knows how to going about enforcing them.

What remains is a still-growing online gambling industry and a fast-growing sentiment that the proposed UIGEA regulations are unenforceable and ridiculous.

Is this hearing another step towards regulation of the online gambling industry in the United States in the near future?
