What does the term "brick and mortar" mean as it applies to the world of poker? What is the definition of the term "brick and mortar"?

If somebody says that they are playing poker in a "brick and mortar" casino, this means that they are playing in a an actual casino, rather than just playing online.

Nowadays, the vast majority of poker is played online. And why not? Many people prefer playing poker from the comfort of their own computers. Not only that, but online games are much faster and cheaper.

The advantage of playing in a "brick and mortar" casino? At the lower levels, the players tend to be quite bad, which can make playing in a "live" casino quite profitable. The downside is higher rake, expensive drinks/food and commuting to/from the casino.

With online poker almost completely wiped out in the United States, many players have been forced to either leave the country or play in "brick and mortar" casinos.
