What does "take it down" mean in poker? What is the definition of the term "taking it down"?

In poker, the term "take it down" is usually used when describing a single hand or an entire tournament.

When describing the action afterwards to one of your friends, you describe a hand in which you bluffed an opponent with absolutely nothing. Now, let's say that you are playing in a $20 PLO tournament online that ends up drawing 541 participants. After six gruelling hours of play, you "take down the tournament" after dominating at the final table. In this case, "take it down" refers to the fact that you won the entire tournament.
