The Irish Poker Open is coming, and it's going to be bigger and better than ever.

This year will feature a multitude of events being hosted at Dublin's Burlington Hotel, the most noteworthy of which will be the 2,000,000 euro guaranteed main event, taking place from April 6-9th. The event will be 3300+200 euros to buy in, with a maximum number of entrants of 700 players. This year's first prize is expected to be north of 500k euros.

Expect all sorts of players to play in this event, with a large number of Europeans playing at the main event. You can expect players such as Noah Boeken, Elky and Ram Vaswani to try and take down the main event this year.

The Irish Poker Open has a rich tradition as the secondest longest running poker tournament, behind the World Series of Poker. The tournament has been around since 1981, and only seems to grow each year.

Last year, the winner was Vincent Melinn, who took down a first prize of 350k euros.
