10th Superstar Showdown to Pit Viktor Blom Against Rui Cao

After a six week hiatus, the "Superstar Showdown" will be returning to Pokerstars this weekend with a hotly anticipated match between Viktor "Isildur1" Blom and Rui "PepperoniF" Cao.

According to Pokerstars, Cao has been asking for a "Superstar Showdown" match with "Isildur1" since last December. This Sunday (starting at 12 pm ET), "PepperoniF" will finally get his shot.

The match between "Isildur1" and "PepperoniF" will reportedly consist of 2 $50/$100 No Limit Hold'em tables and 2 $50/$100 Pot Limit Omaha tables. The winner will be the player who is ahead after 625 hands have been played at each of the four tables (for a total of 2,500 hands).

"Isildur1" has enjoyed a great deal of success in the "Superstar Showdown", as he is currently 7-2 after a total of 9 matches. Blom has managed to post a cumulative profit of over $350,000 over the course of the nine matches.

Blom's seven wins have come against Tony G, Daniel Cates, Eugene Katchalov, "Dodgyfish72", Daniel Negreanu, Scott Palmer and "Mastermixus". His two losses have come against Daniel Negreanu (rematch) and Isaac Haxton.

This should be an explosive match-up on Sunday, as both "Isildur1" and "PepperoniF" are ultra-aggressive players.

According to HighStakesDB.com, Rui "PepperoniF" Cao is up approximately $1.4 million on Pokerstars so far in 2011. In addition, Cao is also up approximately $340k under his "Rui Cao" alias on Full Tilt Poker over the same period of time.

"Isildur1", on the other hand, is down approximately $447k on Pokerstars since the start of 2011.
