Pokerstars SCOOP (Spring Championship of Online Poker) 2012The final numbers for SCOOP (Spring Championship of Online Poker) 2012 are in.

According to Pokerstars, $65,332,179 in total prize money was paid out in this year's SCOOP series, easily topping the $30 million that Pokerstars had guaranteed.

Over a total of 120 events, 128,555 unique players participated from 156 different countries. These 128,555 unique players combined for a total of 526,154 total buy-ins.

Pokerstars started hosting the Spring Championship of Online Poker back in 2009. Over the past four years, 323,499 players from 200 different countries have participated in the event, and nearly $200 million has been paid out.

The numbers for this year's event were up substantially over last year.

The three main event tournaments (which are currently still running), all easily exceeded their guarantees. Let's look at the numbers:

Main Event (L) - 22,128 players, $2,212,800 prize pool ($1 million guaranteed)

Main Event (M) - 3,567 players, $3,567,000 prize pool ($1.5 million guaranteed)

Main Event (H) - 517 players, $5,170,000 prize pool ($2.5 million guaranteed)

It's worth noting that the total prize pool for this year's SCOOP ended up easily topping the $47,120,800 that was paid out in the 2011 WCOOP (World Championship of Online Poker). This makes SCOOP the biggest online tournament series in the world, at least until the next WCOOP.
